I highly recommend Tony Seyfi to anyone looking for a top criminal defense attorney in Los Angeles. He truly is a sign of hope, strength, and success.
I understand my case involved difficult evidence, but I personally expected more time spent reviewing the evidence, discussing possible alternatives, and making sure I fully understood the consequences of my decision. Most conversations felt rushed and often happened moments before court appearances.
There were also multiple continuances in my case even after my attorney already had the information and materials he requested early on. From my perspective, the case kept getting pushed forward without meaningful communication or preparation with me about strategy or possible alternatives.
At one hearing, the judge even commented that if my attorney came for “2 minutes” to represent me, it would help speed up the process considering the amount of money being paid. That moment added to my concern that the focus was more on moving the case along quickly than helping me fully understand everything happening in my case.
I also frequently felt pressured during conversations in and around the courtroom. There were times where negative comments about the judge, bailiff, courtroom process, or possible outcomes felt more focused on pushing me toward accepting the plea rather than calmly helping me understand all of my options.
One comment that especially stayed with me was being told that less work is put into cases when the attorney personally believes the client is guilty because there are other clients he “has to work hard for.” Hearing that during such a serious case left me feeling discouraged and unsupported.
I paid over $5,000 and, from my perspective, most of what occurred were continuances and very brief conversations with the prosecutor shortly before hearings. I understand criminal cases can involve difficult facts and negotiation strategy, but I personally did not feel the level of communication, preparation, or representation matched the seriousness of the case or the amount paid.
This was my personal experience, and others may feel differently, but I left the process feeling unheard, unprepared, and frustrated.
