My mother hired Mr. Coppins in March of 2007 for a case that I was fighting in Warren, MI. I was racially profiled by the police, pepper sprayed in the face and was called many racial slurs by Warren police department. Mr. Coppins did very little to represent me. The video footage was altered as well as the audio. Sean did nothing to recover the original footage. Almost 20 years later and I am stuck with two felonies that I didn't deserve. It seems as though he was only interested in my mother's money. Do yourself a favor and find another lawyer.

There was definitely more to it than what the video that we received showed. I am not attempting the "race card", but as a young black woman at the time, surrounded by 4 police cars, two officers per car and neither of them where black nor female, of course I felt like I was fighting for my life. However, nothing can change the many years of therapy and a PTSD diagnosis.

Furthermore, you say misdemeanor but my criminal history reads felony which I just recently found out.

By the way, I'm glad you and my mother maintained such a great rapport over the years and that SHE was happy with the outcome. She may have paid you (which I reimbursed her for) but I was the one being represented.

Also, in response to your surprise of my review, I too am surprised that I had to leave such a review 20 years later.

I met Mr. Coppins 18 years ago as a court appointed attorney. I caught a serious case dealing with a family member, and I was looking at 20 years. Sean guaranteed me that he would fight for me as if I was one of his paid clients, and that he DID DO! Instead of doing 20 years Mr. Coppins got me 1 year in the county jail along with work release. After I put that situation behind me i stayed in contact with Mr. Coppins, and I sent him paid clients who were also pleased with his work. 18 years later I hired Mr. Coppins to sit in on my Project Clean Slate expungement hearing in Macomb County. I felt more comfortable with Mr. Coppins being at my table because he knew the situation of my case, and he knows his way around a court room. It is safe to say that my record is expunged and I’m able to do things with my grandchildren that I wasn’t allowed to do with my children.
