I called in for a quote on a Thursday. Didn't hear back from the offices by the following Tuesday so I called them. Their administrative assistant quoted me $2500 before court costs and fines to take care of two speeding tickets!!! One for my wife and the other myself. When I asked her why so high? Her response was, "Due to the excessive speed on both tickets it would involve extra steps such as community service, driving school, etc.". So I'm guessing Combs and Waterkotte perform the community service and driving school for their clients! No wonder they have such a high Google rating, 😂. Joking aside. What a ridiculous price to charge for what amounts to a back door handshake with their prosecuting attorney friends and 30 minutes of paperwork completed by their paralegal. My wife's ticket 60 mph in a 35 mph speed trap on backroads in our country neighborhood by St. Charles County. And 89 mph in a 60 mph zone going 70 east while getting off on the 370 exit by Mid-Rivers Mall by St. Charles County using moving radar with a lot of traffic. I wasn't going 89 mph and it's near impossible to do so when getting off at that exit. I remember looking at my speedometer which was at 69 mph and saying why in the hell is this guy pulling me over for 9 miles over?! I expect the typical scams being perpetrated by the St. Charles County Police Dept. Instead of "Serve and Protect", their motto should be "Tax and Collect". Now I see the lawyers are in on the scam. What a shameful representation of your law firm Combs Waterkotte. You get an F-, 1 star from me. Unless those fees truly include both partners doing the community service and driving school for their clients. then you get maybe a C-, 3 stars.

I had a petty larceny charge and was terrified. My attorney got it dismissed no charges or fees. I was so scared but John was very calm and reassuring and I didn’t have to talk to a judge or a prosecutor. I was told from other attorney offices that I should plea and pay charges. Thank God I called this place. This was my first experience dealing with anything legal. Everybody on the team was very helpful! I had about 1000 questions that might have been stupid but the team answered all of them with respect! If you are looking for an attorney, call this place. Thanks guys ur all awesome!

My daughter got a speeding ticket on her way back to college. Combs Waterkotte got it reduced to a lesser violation with no points on her license. It was the simplest process. They were responsive, fast and effective. I 100% would recommend.

My husband hired Andrew to represent him for several felony charges where he was being held on an exorbitant bond (words used by several other attorney’s and even prosecutors who have reviewed the case) He paid $9000 up front to just represent him at the bond hearing. Andrew waited the day before the hearing to contact anyone or review anything about the case and the morning of the hearing more money was demanded even though he failed to get the bond reduced. He didnt even catch key information of discrepancies in the States complaint and probable cause affidavit that could have potentially got the case dismissed. Weeks went by without any contact with Andrew, phone calls and messages went unanswered. Promises to obtain medical records to get bond reduced went unfulfilled. When my husband decided to fire him and request a refund, he offered his apologies and admitted he had failed and asked to give him a chance to represent him properly at the next hearing. More promises were made and my husband was told that there was abundant information that could get charges dropped and bond reduced but again after that one phone call he didnt hear from his again.Dozens of phone calls and messages with information that was useful to the case went unanswered for over a month. His negligence was so severe that a public defender stepped in on my husbands behalf and 4 days before the pre-lim he was able to achieve what Andrew failed to do in 3 months. Charges were dropped and bond was reduced. We also learned that the Prosecutor herself made several attempts to contact Andrew to offer the plea deal and even her calls went unanswered resulting in several weeks of unnecessary jail time. The most outrageous part of all of this was that after a month of being ignored and having zero contact with his client or the prosecutor Andrew sent someone from his firm to the pre-lim and expected him to represent my husband. When the prosecutor told him that she was dealing with the public defender who took over the case he got angry and stomped out of the courtroom. $9000 may not be alot of money to some people but it seems like a ridiculous amount of money to pay someone who couldnt bother to return a few phone calls that could have gotten his client home.
