This experience happened 10 years ago. I was introduced to a lawyer through a close friend and consulted with him. He assured me that everything would go well and guaranteed success. At that time, my biggest concerns were whether I would win the lawsuit if I filed it, and how much the total lawyer fees would be. He said I could win, and moreover, that the costs would be reasonable.

However, after actually filing the lawsuit, he demanded absurdly high attorney fees in the beginning and then stopped answering my calls. He insisted on an unreasonable amount, and the person I sued counter-sued me for false accusation. When I said I couldn’t afford such a large sum, the person who sued me for false accusation threatened that they would win, and I would suffer huge losses.

Fortunately, I happened to meet a lawyer who was like a savior. He said he would take on the case and asked my previous lawyer’s assistant for all the information. In the end, I won the case with the help of this new lawyer.

Today, I saw news from America reporting that the previous lawyer’s assistant used ChatGPT to blindly transcribe things without verifying them, including legal precedents and laws that didn’t even exist. In the dispute between OTG New York and Ottogi America, the assistant did this kind of careless work using ChatGPT without proper verification.

Although that lawyer may have good connections and plenty of work, once you actually work with him, you realize he is incompetent and charges excessively. Lawyers like that should be removed from the profession.

He got what he deserved. Meanwhile, it seems like he was diligently going to church. Don’t trust this person.
