I recently received a subpoena to appear at a deposition. This is my first time participating in a deposition and I had two quick questions that only a lawyer could answer. I know that only a few lawyers give free consultations. Paying a fee for legal advice is understandable and most of the time expected. Whatever quote I would have received, I was prepared to pay. My goal was to find a lawyer that was willing to take at least five minutes to give me the 'Cliff Notes' answer to my questions. I contacted two other lawyers/law firms , but was unable to receive assistance or advice to my question regarding the deposition or even a suggestion in regards to the type of (specialty) lawyer that I should consider reaching out to.
