I would not recommend this law firm to anyone at first everything seemed professional and good however. I had a payment agreement set in place and I had to call 3 different times for the fact that they did not want to honor the agreement and tried to charge me on when I wasn’t supposed to be charged and I had to call three different times to get that fixed. not only was there an issue with billing My court date was canceled for the fact that all of the attorneys and judge agreed on everything I wasn’t even able to explain myself I never agreed to anything and then when I emailed my lawyer, I got an email from a different person at the office saying that I’m terminated so they refuse to talk to me. This law firm has very questionable ethics and I would not recommend to anybody

I am updating my review due to serious concerns about Ben's performance on my case. We hired Ben over a year ago on a felony case and paid $5000.00. I've noticed a significant decline in his responsiveness, and it’s concerning especially as trial approaches next month. He has not followed up with the witnesses we provided, and hasn’t told us how he plans to defend in court. Several calls and emails have gone unanswered, leaving us in a troubling situation.

So far, pending waiting to get more information. Will update after trial as well.

The first time I used Ben Catterlin was a few years back and he was expensive but also helpful. I did have to schedule an in office visit to get our questions answered because he wasn't very informative via emails. This was the first time I ever retained a lawyer so I assumed all lawyers acted the same way and were almost impossible to make contact with.
Recently I referred him to 2 different friends of mine. His performance was inexcusable to say the least. The first friend is now in prison. I don't feel he did his best to defend her. He never met with her in person. 2 days before her trial he called her on the phone. During the trial he never presented the defense she requested him to use. She paid him $5000 and he only spoke to her twice before the trial.
The other friend I referred him to had even more disappointment with his services. He never returned any of the clients phone calls.
He did reply to a few emails. He filed papers to the court saying he would represent the client, and he made one court appearance to enter a plea and request a jury trial. He was paid $7500 in Nov 2024 for representation. The client passed away in December 2024. The case was then dismissed. However there was still the case to return the clients property that was confiscated during the arrest, which had a value of well over $40,000. The clients heirs/estate administrator (the clients daughter) tried to discuss the case with Ben Catterlin but did not receive any satisfaction. He never returned any of her phone calls. so she hired another attorney. The new attorney discovered documents she was never made aware of such as counter offers from the prosecuting attorney and all the property confiscated during the initial arrest was going to be auctioned in 2 days. Luckily the new attorney has been very helpful. When she told Ben Catterlin that she no longer wanted his representation he became very hostile. She requested a refund and he refused. Saying he didn't have to give her a dime. However, she had a previous email from him sent shortly after her father passed away saying he would refund the $7500. After telling him that he has agreed to refund $2500. I would not use Ben Catterlin for anything.
