If I could give Sean and his law firm zero stars, I would. My family and I paid more than $54,000 in legal fees in just six months. Despite that significant investment, we were forced to spend even more money on appellate counsel, new attorneys, and additional legal fees. The total financial impact on our family has now exceeded $100,000. I hired this law firm expecting honest advice, realistic case evaluations, clear communication about legal risks, and a strategy focused on protecting my interests. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Looking back, I believe that if I had been fully informed about the risks, potential consequences, strengths, weaknesses, and available legal strategies from the beginning, many of these costs and losses might have been avoided. Instead, I felt that my legal bills continued to increase while many of my questions and concerns were never clearly answered. One of the most disappointing parts of my experience was that Sean did not personally appear at one of my important court hearings and instead sent another attorney. I had hired Sean to represent me and expected him to personally appear at such an important hearing or, at a minimum, clearly explain the change to me beforehand. In addition, I received monthly invoices for thousands of dollars. According to the billing statements I received, I was repeatedly charged for two attorneys reviewing or working on my case. From my perspective, these fees were extremely high, and I did not feel the explanations provided justified the charges. I also believe I was not fully informed about significant litigation risks that later resulted in substantial financial consequences for my family. Ultimately, we had to hire appellate counsel and new attorneys to continue and protect our case. Based on my personal experience, I felt that increasing legal fees became the focus, rather than making sure I fully understood the risks, likely costs, and potential outcomes before major decisions were made. Had I been given a complete and candid assessment of my case from the beginning, I may have made very different decisions. This review reflects only my personal experience. If you are considering hiring this law firm, I strongly encourage you to ask detailed questions about the litigation strategy, the strengths and weaknesses of your case, all potential risks, how attorney fees will be billed, who will actually be handling your case, and the total financial commitment you may be making before signing a retainer agreement.

Sean Slattery is an extraordinarily talented attorney. He was able to clarify my highly complex case and explain the most viable choices. While he may not promise an outcome, he is the promise for the best resolution. He helped salvage my future and my reputation. The staff at Carlsbad Law is great.

Spoke with an attorney today who was very rude and made me seem to be complaining rather than looking for a solution to my disability discrimination questions. If it’s a grey area that is hard to pursue just say that, don’t belittle someone for asking questions and genuinely having their feeling and rights violated. Would not recommend this firm to anyone. I will never call again for advice or questions. The conversation turned me off to seeking more legal advice just then another attorneys office called me back and said I may have a case. Thumbs down.
