08/23 update, I noticed that the original review was deleted again so I'm reposting it. No condolences, no apologies for their behavior was ever received.
Our experience with Burzynski Elder Care was horrendous. The stress they put my 80 year old father throughout the ordeal was excruciating. We are a small family, our priority was caring for my sick mother and having common legal documents done. Dan Burzynski changed the legal documents after it was already approved by the entire family. Burzynski confirmed everything prior to the final copy but then changed it to his own personal preference. An attorney can advise and recommend but they can not alter legal documents against the clients direction. Dan Burzynski refused to correct his problem and then decided to terminate a 1 year contract after only 2 months of wasting our time. They refused any refund. My father paid them $18,000 for this, 2 months of difficulty. It was as if we hired a firm to fight against us. My mother passed away in January, I miss her very much. If she knew how our family was mistreated she would have been furious.
After the Burzynski relationship ceased I handled all of the responsibilities as her health care surrogate. I dealt directly with the nursing home, doctors, insurance, etc. The day to day ran smoother without Burzynski's involvement. This firm was aware of my mother's deteriorating condition yet they still treated my father with zero respect, it was disgusting. Normally when you pay inflated fees you get exceptional service, not the case here. Instead we experienced arrogance and laziness. Dan Burzynski repeatedly lied about my father and I. We were dealing with a firm that refused to complete the simplest task. We expected some guidance on estate planning, none was given. Two of the three legal documents we needed were done incorrectly.
Money was never a question with our family. The last Will and Testament was completed over twenty years ago and all the beneficiary's were already set. All of the legal forms and problems that we had with this firm have since been corrected but it doesn't take take away the pain and anguish we experienced during their short involvement with my family.
Twenty years ago, we lived through a similar situation when my grandparents became ill. We got the necessary healthcare and nursing assistance, no attorney was ever needed nor hired and we got through that rough time without the drama of this experience.
My main concern now is looking after my father. What can be done to make the Burzynski mess better? My father and I would like the Burzynski Elder Care Firm to donate the $18,000 that we gave to them to the Cancer Research Institute or the Fisher Center for Alzheimer Research Foundation in the name of my mother, Liliane.
