Went by......called....went by.....called. Finally i got a receptionist on the line. A receptionist!!! Not a lawyer, but a receptionist listened to my story. Went and told someone?????? (supposedly) what my dilemma was and then told me that they cant take my case because they only take high profile officer involved shooting victim cases.

I contacted this office seeking legal representation regarding a potential excessive force/civil rights case involving serious injuries I sustained during an arrest by law enforcement. This was not a casual inquiry to me ….. it involved a traumatic experience, medical treatment, and concerns about the level of force used during the arrest. Because this office had prior involvement with cases concerning the same officer, I believed my concerns would at least be taken seriously and handled professionally. Instead, my interaction with James Cook left me feeling dismissed and disrespected. After taking the time to carefully explain what happened and communicate my experience in a clear and professional manner, I was met with comments implying that I used ChatGPT to write my inquiry, rather than any meaningful acknowledgment of the seriousness of the situation or the injuries involved.

To have someone minimize the way I chose to communicate while I’m trying to seek help for an incident involving physical injuries and potential civil rights violations was honestly disappointing. People reaching out to attorneys in situations like this are often already overwhelmed, stressed, and vulnerable. Professionalism, empathy, and basic respect should be expected, regardless of whether the case is accepted or not. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.
