I’m writing this review to express my gratitude to attorneys Trisha Pohland and James Cook and to spread the news about what they have done for my community in the wake of Operation Metro Surge. As you are probably aware, we have had a uniquely difficult year in the State of Minnesota: at the height of ICE activities here, we had over 2,000 agents terrorizing our communities, kidnapping our neighbors, stalking our children’s school buses, and murdering people in our streets. Since that time Cook and Pohland have been providing pro bono services not only to the witnesses of these atrocities, but also to protestors and constitutional observers who have had their civil rights violated and who, in some cases, have faced injury, detention, and litigation. To put it simply: Pohland and Cook are the heroes defending the heroes in Minneapolis and when historians write the book of what happened here, they will deserve a special commendation. Their work has provided vital legal defense to ordinary people who would otherwise find themselves burdened with the task of paying for services elsewhere, and we as a community could not be more grateful for everything they have done. I have worked personally with both of them and I can attest not only to their commitment to their clients, but to their skills in the courtroom. Trisha Pohland is a reassuring presence the moment she enters the room, and as an attorney she is quick-thinking, adaptive, and keyed in to all kinds of legal nuances that I cannot even begin to understand. James Cook is an amazing advocate for his clients, a voice for justice in our community, and professional of tremendous expertise who takes great care in seeing that his client’s rights are preserved. I know that together they are working on several very prominent cases related to events that have made international headlines, but I also can attest that they provide great attention and care to even the least of their clients. Their paralegal at BNCL, Brooke Inman, is responsive, encouraging, and able to explain all kinds of complex legal processes in a way that makes sense to ordinary people. It was an absolute honor to have them in my corner. Their services to the people of Minnesota will never be forgotten.

Went by......called....went by.....called. Finally i got a receptionist on the line. A receptionist!!! Not a lawyer, but a receptionist listened to my story. Went and told someone?????? (supposedly) what my dilemma was and then told me that they cant take my case because they only take high profile officer involved shooting victim cases.
