This was my family’s first experience working with an estate attorney. We knew we had to set up a Trust for our family, but always procrastinated with starting the process. Leighton was very specific with the process and explained in detail what we needed to do to get the Trust process started. He made sure we understood how important our selections were and that our documents could always be changed based on our circumstances. He filed all of the paper work with the county to include our home and other assets AND when we were in the process of purchasing our new home, he advised us to ask the underwriter to add our new home to the Trust before it closed escrow. This was a very strange interaction with the receptionist. I called to make an appointment for document review and she wanted payment over the phone without meeting. When I tried to ask questions she got riled up and talked about she’s not taking my money, this is her job, etc. I wasn’t even able to inquire about the process because she got so defensive. It sounded very shady. I wish it was a better interaction as I was looking forward to working with the attorney.
