Really disappointed with the lack of professionalism at this law firm when it comes to communication, responsiveness, and the way both the attorneys and front office staff treat people. From the very beginning, I was treated with disrespect by both the front desk staff and the attorneys. Phone calls would go unanswered, emails would be ignored, and whenever I did manage to get someone on the phone, I was often met with a rude, dismissive attitude. It became very clear that people are only treated well when they are useful to the firm’s objectives. My experience with Courtney Shepard was particularly concerning. During my involvement in a case, I was provided with outlined questions and answers that I was expected to practice before testifying. When I raised concerns and explained that I was uncomfortable with what I believed I was being asked to do, I was made to feel as though my concerns were an inconvenience rather than something that should be taken seriously. I made it very clear that I was not willing to commit perjury or say anything that was not truthful. After expressing those concerns and informing them that I no longer wished to participate in the case, the firm’s attitude toward me changed completely. The moment I no longer wanted to be involved to their benefit, communication essentially stopped. My requests were ignored, my questions went unanswered, and I was repeatedly stonewalled when I asked about revoking my evidence and withdrawing my involvement. Rather than treating me with professionalism and respect, I felt like I was discarded because I was no longer willing to do what they wanted. What is especially troubling is that I actually left a review about my experience approximately two years ago. Rather than addressing the concerns I raised, one of the firm’s clients contacted me and told me that if I did not remove my review, she would leave a negative review about me at my place of employment. The difference is that I had direct, firsthand interactions with this law firm and was reviewing my own experience. She had never been a client, customer, or business contact of mine and had absolutely no experience with my work. The sole purpose of the threat appeared to be retaliation and intimidation in an effort to force me to remove an honest review. At the time, I gave in and removed it. Looking back, I regret doing so because no one should be pressured into silence for sharing their genuine experience with a business. Over the years, I have continued to think about my experience with this firm, and the more distance I have from it, the more disturbing I find it. I have never encountered a group of people who, in my opinion, appeared so willing to twist facts, manipulate narratives, and prioritize winning over honesty. The behavior I experienced left a lasting impression, and not in a positive way. To make matters even more concerning, while working in an office building that housed another law firm, I was told by attorneys there that they specifically would not hire Courtney Shepard because of her reputation, tactics, and performance in court. Hearing that from legal professionals completely unrelated to my situation only reinforced the concerns I already had based on my own firsthand experience. I also encourage anyone considering this firm to carefully read through the other reviews. A common pattern emerges regarding communication problems, professionalism issues, disrespectful treatment, and concerns about how people are handled once they are no longer useful to the firm’s goals. My experience was not an isolated incident. Two years later, I still stand by my concerns. This was one of the worst professional experiences I have ever had. I would never recommend this firm to anyone looking for honest communication, professionalism, ethical conduct, or basic respect. There are many law firms out there, and based on my experience, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

Courtney and Andrea were absolutely incredible during my divorce process. My situation was very difficult and high conflict. They helped me navigate it and I ended up with a really great outcome. Courtney is smart and fierce and exactly what you need especially in high conflict situations.

Divorce is difficult under the best of circumstances, but when you’re divorcing a difficult person it can be overwhelming. Happily, Brooke Archbold & Robert Burch & their team (including Lisa Doumar) were more than up to the challenge—they were classy, well organized, & worked very hard to protect my interests, ultimately reaching a fair conclusion. Highly recommended.

I worked with Robert Burch and Solange Rousset in creating a prenuptial agreement for my upcoming marriage. I had little to no knowledge of what the process looked like, and everyone at the company was professional, friendly, and accommodating throughout the entire process. I had no doubt that they had my best interests in mind and would highly recommend working with them for any matter of family law.
