I made the mistake of hiring Richard Bonefant!!
I will start by saying, I keep very good records and here are the facts:
Richard Bonefant sat on my divorce case for 4 months and when I asked him for a progress report after not hearing anything, he unprofessionally said "I shall not do progress reports".
I sat down with him 4 times for a total of 76 minutes, 1st meeting 25 minutes, 2nd meeting 12 minutes, 3rd meeting 25 minutes, 4th meeting 14 minutes, he tried to cover his tracks by saying "on each occasion you were given the opportunity to stay longer or ask additional questions. You did not. I needed to prepare for each meeting in advance as well as make notes of action to be taken afterward." He never once was prepared and he never mentioned this at any of our meetings,
He also said: "In addition, there were numerous phone calls answered and returned." Again, no details, but I have recorded a total of 9 minutes and 46 seconds of conversations where I initiated almost every phone call. He did mistakenly call me several times, so maybe he charged me for that as well, I don't know, there was no detailed billing.
On our first meeting I documented where he said "I will notify you when your $2500 retainer reaches its 1st $1000 & then the 2nd $1000 to keep us on track." He did none of that.
When I terminated our relationship, due to lack of service, he didn't have any detailed breakdown and just kept the whole retainer. I'm guessing he had a total of 3 hours at most invested. Do your friends and yourself a favor and be careful when choosing an attorney.

Great guy, really knows his stuff

Rich Bonenfant is an absolutely incredible representative and human being. He truly cares about me and my family law issues. I’ve never questioned his integrity and he’s always been there for me. This man works harder for me than any attorney I’ve ever used. I don’t feel comfortable in the courtroom without him. His knowledge and experience is incredibly valuable. I don’t just feel like a client of his, but a friend. You can trust rich. Hiring him was the best decision I’ve ever made.
