Original Review: I called this office today to request a consultation for an immigration detention case. From the very beginning of the call, I clearly stated that I was calling about a detention matter. Instead of first confirming whether the firm handles these types of cases, the person who answered proceeded to collect my full name, phone number, and email address. Only after gathering all of my personal information did he inform me that the firm is not offering consultations for detention cases until further notice. When I asked why my information was collected if the firm was not accepting these cases, he simply responded that this is what they do for everyone who calls. I found this to be unprofessional and an unnecessary waste of time. As a Florida Registered Paralegal working in immigration law, I know that well-run law firms typically determine whether they handle a particular type of case before collecting a caller's personal information. If your office is not accepting detention cases, that should be communicated at the beginning of the call. A name and the phone number displayed on caller ID would have been sufficient if your goal was simply to track incoming inquiries. I hope this feedback helps improve your intake process for future callers, especially those dealing with urgent detention matters where every minute counts.
