I have worked with both Jeff Mickelson and Steve Dembo. I feel they both dont listen and had no concern about my case or me as a client. Pompous. Poor customer service. Money down the drain. Cannot recommend. There are better attorneys elsewhere.

I retained this law firm to represent me in my divorce proceedings. The immediate need was to help secure partial custody of my son (I had 0 and only partial access). Given the nature of the issue I was surprised I had to pull teeth and received slow responses and excuses as to why they could not reach my ex-wife's attorney. It continued to get worse with the introduction of COVID-19 to the state and I was informed the courts were closed so no hearings could take place leading me to believe I had to rely on my attorney to advocate/negotiate for my rights and my son's constitutional right to see his father. After a very disheartening exchange where further restrictions had been placed making access to my son even more difficult I had to inform my attorney of the regulations and guidance surrounding COVID-19 (he clearly hadn't done any homework on the guidelines) and that his "advocating" on my behalf which meant talking with her attorney lead to 0 progress and 2 months and $2000 wasted. I consulted with new counsel who informed me that the courts were closed, but could still get agreements in order helping maintain some sort of consistency and normalcy to interactions. What this meant is that I was being extremely under-served. I was crushed to learn this as I have made it very clear how distressing not having my son is and my ex-wife's behavior being permitted with a blanket response of "There's nothing we can do because the courts are closed". I'm not downplaying the difficulty and uncertainty surrounding the virus' impact on the court systems but for hourly rate I'm paying a lawyer I expect them to advocate for my rights and offer a return on this investment and do their job when the law is on your side. I am not giving them one star because they were professional and were not mean or unwilling to listen. The two stars is a reflection on how poor the quality of results and the mishandling and seemingly unwillingness to actually present me with all the options to advocate for custody and access to my son.
