Kelly Benavides was assigned to me as my court appointed attorney for 2 felonies that I was wrongfully accused of, due to the fact that an investigator with HPD decided it would be OK if he falsely accused me of using someone's personal info (name, social, DOB, etc) to obtain a credit card, even though the crimes were actually committed by a man with the same first and last name as me, but a different middle name than mine. After being arrested on a warrant for 2 felony charges that I knew nothing about and had no involvement in, I wanted to know how I was charged with these offenses, so I conducted my own investigation and quickly discovered how and why they linked me to these crimes.
