Our family was faced with a “professional” financial elder abuser of my dad, who had Alzheimer's. Within a year of my mom dying, after 53 years of marriage, he was manipulated by a woman, allowed her to move into his house, she changed the locks, isolated him from his family and all work associates, and married him with a confidential marriage license. This woman would drive him to the bank, and have him make huge cash withdraws. Money was flying out of his bank accounts by the thousands, and we were sure she was also drugging him. She got him to buy 2 cars in her name, and she convinced him that she was there to save the day. It was a crazy and scary time. I hired Merrianne Dean because she had been recommended, and she was exactly what we needed! She took the time to get to know this very complicated case, and agreed trying to get a conservatorship of him, that we knew would be contested by her, was probably the best move. This woman was trying to get ahold of his trust assets and kick me off from being his Power of Attorney and Trustee, something that had been written into his estate plan for more than 28 years. We were able to get her removed from the house with a restraining order, but we still ended up having a total of 8 different cases that stretched over just two years, and Merrianne and her team handled them all. They were professional, thoughtful, and timely. We are so appreciative of Merrianne, Mona and the rest of the team at Bellator Law. Our family is eternally grateful for them!
