I had the pleasure of meeting James and Misty Becker at Becker Law Firm about 10 years ago when I needed legal counsel. Over the years I’ve asked for their professional opinion and they have always had a timely answer. I have met many attorneys but I have to say both James and Misty rank above any I have met. I was treated terrible bad workers lied on me when the lady in fact refused to give me information about my case they fail me and my kids I wasted 3,500 for nothing I literally thought I was gone get the help I needed for my case but I didn't they took my money talk to me any kind of way . It's sad to say you have to be careful looking for lawyers the killed part was the lady lied on me while my mom was in the house my fiancé was on my other phone I learn from my mistake before I just jump and do something cause I needed the help the issue was never resolved and the kids are the ones you fail the most
Once again she is believing what your workers said which is a lie when my mom and Fiance was on the phone when I talked to that lady I was not rude or yelled in any way what work did you do I still lost my kids you did nothing but take my money this firm needs to be shut down didn’t even send my balance I had left .

I hired Becker Law Firm in an emergency custody situation and paid a $4,500 retainer through Affirm on February 24, 2025. The very next day, I canceled services after the legal issue was resolved. The attorney confirmed in writing that they would stop work and refund my retainer minus minimal fees.

Despite this, they never issued a refund. Instead, they later billed me $535.25, including a $222.75 “transaction fee” that was never disclosed or agreed upon. I received only about 1.25 hours of service and did not receive $4,500 worth of legal help.

I’ve since filed formal complaints with the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility, the CFPB, and the Attorney General’s Office. This experience has been deeply disappointing—especially during such a vulnerable time. I would not recommend this firm to anyone seeking clear, honest, or compassionate representation.
