My case was handled poorly. Poor preparation, poor representation, left out substantial amounts of evidence we had that very well could have changed the outcome of our case. Was told we will reveal that evidence in trial. They weren’t prepared for ruling to be judged at pretrial. Then was told after the ruling in pretrial that I didn’t have a right to an actual evidentiary hearing/trial for whatever reason. So why were we withholding evidence then? Terrible strategy, I wasn’t stood up for, they didn’t do their job, charged me an arm and a leg for it, and I’m worse off than when we started. I do not recommend. Now I’m gonna have to hire a real professional to clean up the mess that “the bear” made worse.

Charges 310$ per hour for consultation if they can take your case or not.

Update: as promised, Mary did call me and explained why one of the issues occurred and was the sole person I have spoken to from this firm that has been professional and incredibly helpful. My review on Maria, and the overall preparedness stands. I own a small business, and would be bending over backwards to make things right with a client if I had behaved the way I was treated here. Following the response by Brad Bearnson: I did not attempt to direct him with what to do. I told him I had a hard stop on time so as not to backrupt myself as I simply needed some advice, he said he was not comfortable with that, we went our separate ways. His response as to what happened is incorrect. Just avoid. Original: I’d go negative if I could. I met with a managing partner for 12 minutes. My experience with him, and the office staff (Maria the office manager) was incredibly unprofessional. The people I had the “pleasure” of speaking to were slimy, rude, and I would never trust them with any sort of legal dispute, no matter how small. Avoid Bearnson and Caldwell at all costs. For the rate, just use a firm in Salt Lake that knows how to provide customer service in ANY capacity. Very disappointed. I ended up going with a bigger name firm in Salt Lake that was able to assist me with no complications or disrespect. None of this has been made right yet, and I will update this if it ever is.

We were hopeful after our initial call with Mr. Bergman. He seemed intelligent and kind as well as knowledgeable about our type of case. Unfortunately, we never received a timely response after that. We kept hearing from a secretary that our case documents would be reviewed "soon" and we were told this for 3 months straight with no action behind it. Timeliness is important to us and our situation. To top it off, we received a bill this week for the time the paralegal spent "organizing" our emails- the emails with documents that were never reviewed by the attorney. We will be going a different direction. This law firm may not be the one for you if you require timely action.
