AMAZING !! I had 6 DUI in NC. 2024 I caught 1 in Tennessee. THE LAST ONE as that 1 sobered me up! In Tennessee multiple DUI can be 10-12 years in PRISON sentence. I am 70. Retired, finally married to the woman worth being sober with. I got lucky , the judge in that county only saw 1 DUI. So here I go again with an Ignition Interlock limited privilege licence. My vehicle went in the shop for month. I choose to drive my wife to her Drs appt. STUPID !! 1-1/2 miles away I got pulled driving with no Ignition interlock. The 1 year Ignition interlock ended , BUT , the DMV caught 4 or more DUI. Mandatory Ignition interlock till 2032, 8 years ! Now if DMV got wind of this violation. I'd loose my licence for LIFE! I drive for employment as well as do home remodeling, again driving. On very limited income with retirement SS , we would loose our home and be living on the streets, (wife 75yo). I have an ATROCIOUS driving record. Driving my wife that day was illegal. I don't like that tiny sports car anyways. So I RARELY ( never again ) drive that car. A Knoxville police officer did not like I was driving SO close and even over the white shoulder line. Which IS illegal .Pulls me and accuses me of * driving off pavement kicking up rocks* His voice recorded on his body cam. When dashcam is reviewed, I had NOT gone off pavement kicking up rocks. Over the white line most definitely. I would hope this would mean No Probable Cause. Nope ,not with DUI convictions with no Interlock. NO probable Cause necessary. DOUBLE VIOLATION in Tennessee. Juditial Diversion not allowed for DUI cases. IF I GET CHARGED MY LICENCE IS GONE. I immediately started looking for a lawyer. Found Emily Smith at Brandon's office. GREAT REVIEWS ! Good enuff for me so i hired the firm. Brittany the Paralegal is Wonderful. Wife and I spend 7 weeks in anguish. Dementia causing type Stress. The downtown offices are changing . The PA is changing , the laws being made Stricter. Very difficult for an attorney to know what is going to happen. With my ATROCIOUS record, we are expecting some pretty heavy sentencing. Willing to cash in our $5000 retirement savings. Willing to do community service. Considered becoming a *Traveler * not a *Driver*. Making sure my home projects are in order for aged wife to be Ok while im in Prison ! My children wrote character references, so did my boss. I brought medical records to show my left eye perception is questionable. I re-took ( already took 2 other saftey driving courses over past 6 months , voluntarily.) The Tennessee Senior Diving Safety Course. $16 , 8 hours ,online. In the couse it literally shows pictures of being Very acceptable ,even Encourages to be on outside of white line. And teaches exactly how to set side view mirrors. When doing so ,white line is NOT visible in sideview mirrors. I was prepared to go all the way to trial if necessary. BUT ,at my DUI sentence. I gave away my rights to a jury trial. CUTTING to the point ; Emily Smith got the case DISMISSED ,NO COURT COSTS ,RECORD EXPUNGED !!! Myself ,my wife, the homeowners i do repairs to , the * shut in people* i deliver groceries to every week we ALL Thank **Barnes and Forsten**. I HIGHLY recommend this firm , more specifically Emily Smith. With insurmountable odds against me. I am now in better shape than before STUPIDLY driving my wife's car.
