BGS sent me unsolicited legal advertising shortly after an automobile accident, specifically targeting me based on information about that incident. I did not request information from the firm and had no prior relationship with them. Although targeted mail solicitation may be permissible under Minnesota law, I consider this method of client acquisition intrusive and ethically questionable as a matter of personal judgment. I would prefer to choose an attorney based on reputation, qualifications, and my own research rather than being solicited because I appeared in accident-related records. For that reason, I would not use this firm.
