Writing a review for opposing counsel is rare, but the lack of professionalism I witnessed from Ballard Spahr LLP warrants a clear warning. I was the opposing party in a recent case against them, which was ultimately settled. Even taking the adversarial nature of the legal system into account, their handling of the matter was shockingly poor. Throughout our interactions, their team appeared consistently disorganized and unprepared. Rather than working efficiently to resolve the case, their communication was unnecessarily adversarial, creating friction and delays that seemed entirely counterproductive. As an observer, I was genuinely surprised by how poorly they managed their side of the proceedings. They failed to advocate effectively, and their approach ultimately did a massive disservice to their own client. If you are seeking legal representation, I strongly advise looking for a firm that values preparation, professionalism, and efficient case management over unnecessary posturing.

Borrower beware. If your lender is using them as counsel, they will charge you exorbitantly, not provide any type of back up to account for their billing and fail to be accountable. I would highly recommend you ask for other counsel!
