CONSUMER BEWARE

I’m sharing our experience in hopes of preventing others from making the same mistake we did in hiring this firm. We also noticed that some of the five-star reviews appear to be from company employees (including Bob Reidhaar).

My husband and I hired this firm in May 2024 to handle our bankruptcy. Despite multiple attempts to follow up, Peter Schaeffer had still not filed our petition as of March 2025. When we asked our paralegal, Bob, to speak with Schaeffer about the delay, we were told that the attorney does not speak to clients until the hearing, and there was no direct way to contact him.

When we requested a refund of the $1950 we paid, we were denied and told we were only entitled to the $338 filing fee—yet, almost three weeks later, they still haven't sent that. We ultimately had to hire another attorney, who prepared our petition in just one week, and now we are forced to seek reimbursement through other means.

Unfortunately, after the fact, we found similar complaints on Yelp, confirming that this kind of delay is not normal for a simple bankruptcy filing.

Do not waste your time or money here—there are far more competent attorneys available.
