Arrogant, lazy, and doesn't bother to due their due diligence. Attorney Lance Stewart did the bare minimum. He gave really poor advice to the HOA board and let them rack up $1,000's on false accusations against another board member they didn't like who was trying to hold them accountable for their violations of the CC&Rs and Davis-Sterling laws. It was a form of legal bullying that he performed for the board even though he knew they didn't have a leg to stand on. When confronted about this, he said he was just, "doing what the board tells me to do." Even when the board member's attorney provided an inordinate amount of documentation to prove that the accusations were false and pointed out the HOA laws that Stewart should have known, he kept on fighting a losing battle because it was easy money. He wasted everyone's time and money knowing full well that he wasn't actually following HOA laws. Lance not only condoned the bullying but actively supported it through his legal actions. The board went over their legal budget 5 mos. before the end of their fiscal year because of it. He did not work in the best interest of our Board and Association. After the homeowners voted out the board members who also bullied the community, we fired him immediately. We hired another HOA attorney that we knew would be impartial and advise us to only spend money on legal fees that were absolutely necessary.
