Why does Allen County Prosecutor Mike McAlexander allow baseless citations against law-abiding citizens proceed to court? Despite the officer’s own dash cam video showing that no crime was committed, Mike McAlexander allowed the baseless charges against me to proceed. I demanded my day in court and the judge threw out the baseless charges against me as the prosecution failed to present a single iota of substantiating evidence in support of the officer’s allegations against me. I do not know if it is intentional corruption on Mike McAlexander’s part, or just basic incompetence, but I do know that neither I, nor any other citizen, should have to lose employment time on at least two different days to defend ourselves against Mike McAlexander’s failure to perform his duties in an ethical manner.

[Per the “Indiana Rules of Professional Conduct, Rule 3.8. Special Responsibilities of a Prosecutor, Effective January 1, 2005, The prosecutor in a criminal case shall:

(a) refrain from prosecuting a charge that the prosecutor knows is not supported by probable cause;”]

I heard that he is not seeking re-election when his current term ends (good riddance), and I strongly hope that the citizens of Allen County do not elect his recommendation for replacement (Tesa Hege) as they deserve better than more of the same.

P.S.
Teach your subordinate what the word ‘preponderance’ means, it is embarrassing for your office how badly she misuses it.
