Alf Langan Law Office

Alf Langan was the attorney for my daughter. He is rude and called me after court date to ask for money. He was yelling at me and very unprofessional. I felt threatened and I have filed a formal complaint. I am unable to sleep or feel safe after the phone call. I mentioned a few concerns and he stated I don't care just give me my money. I need him to stop harassing me. I asked numerous times during the call to stop yelling and being rude and he continued the verbal abuse. And I want to give him a negative one rating.

Alf Langan is a very negligent lawyer. During the trial for my child he did not have his facts, paperwork, and timelines together. The trial was supposed to appear via Zoom but he had me fly from California to Wisconsin just to tell me the day before the trial that it was on Zoom. There are many points and issues that I have documented and I have reached out to the board of Lawyers for Wisconsin to report him. Good luck everyone!

I hired Alf Langan in 2005 when getting divorced. The last time I was alone with my husband, he beat me up, and physically, it was hard for me to get around for about a year. And I was in an extremely vulnerable condition. After hiring Mr. Langan, he did not return emails or phone calls. Eventually, I had to physically go to his office and wait several hours until he showed up to see him. In the end, he charged me over $20,000 and did virtually nothing for me other than show up to court and "accept" what my now ex-husband offered. So I was basically hurt by a terrible marriage, and then, by a terrible lawyer. I wanted to hire another lawyer to determine the appropriate fee, but I couldn't handle it emotionally, and have put it behind me. Please stay as far away from this man as you can.

I wrote an honest review of my experience as a previous client of Alf Langans and he disputed it to have it removed. That's dishonest! However, it has prompted me to review his terrible service on other platforms, so it was a poor move. I now see that he's attacking other reviewers who left negative reviews for him. Check his google reviews. He attacked A former client. Below is my original review of him. FYI, he's been disciplined also from the bar, so just pick someone else.
I hired this attorney for a very simple family court matter. I made a huge mistake. He does not respond very well to emails, if at all. He sent about 10 emails about a certain topic for NO reason as they were not getting us anywhere. Then I am charged for them. He charged me for part of my initial conversation with him, never telling me this until I see the bill. I waited 2 weeks for a call back and made 3 calls total before getting one back. He sent me a time sensitive email and implied that I needed to answer him and he would pass the answer to the parties involved and then he never did tell them. I left him a voicemail the same day regarding difficulties with the party because of his inaction and requested a call back asap because of this and it is now 2 full business days later and still no word. Today I hired a new attorney who has a much better rating than this man. In my opinion, do NOT waste your money. I have gone through almost $1,500 and all he did was go to one court date and send countless useless emails. Then I had to call him to let him know that these emails were useless and he wasn't listening to me. Although he seems like a nice man, as an attorney; get someone else
