Instead of taking professional accountability, Attorney Taubes has chosen to respond to legitimate criticism by fabricating tall tales of "midnight phone calls" and fake police reports. He is currently hiding behind a malpractice insurance defense firm while using Google Reviews to launch retaliatory, defamatory attacks against a former client. This behavior is a documented pattern; his conduct has previously been called unethical by the Attorney General of the State of Connecticut for leaking confidential settlement negotiations to the press to garner personal attention.
Attorneys have a special fiduciary responsibility to their clients, myself included. Disagreements between attorneys and clients can happen, and in those instances separation on agreeable terms is typically best for both parties. Even if a relationship becomes contentious, retaliating against a client and attempting to hurt their case is never justified. When I observed Attorney Taubes's actions to be directly contradicting what I had requested in my case, rather than withdraw on mutual terms (as I had asked conditionally), Attorney Taubes misled me and offered a faux apology and began actively working against my interests and ignoring my instructions. When I confronted these practices, Attorney Taubes waved the rulebok in my case and falsely declared he had complete discretion to override my instructions without my knowledge or approval. This is unacceptable conduct; as a practicing attorney, I cannot comprehend what would drive an attorney to act so maliciously and retain a client whose interests they are actively undermining.
I ultimately grieved this attorney after severing him from my federal case. Alex actively misled me about the status of my litigation. If I had not been diligently tracking the federal docket myself, my case would have been severely compromised by his unauthorized filings. I requested his removal three times during his short tenure before officially firing him. From my perspective, he looks for easy settlements, avoids tough fights (or creates performative "conflicts" to generate publicity for himself) , and will actively work against your interests if you challenge his errors. I strongly caution anyone against trusting this individual with their legal matters.
EDIT: The immature and provacative response below by "Attorney Taubes" represents the peeling back of the facade of this self styled "attorney for the people" and reveals the bitter, retaliatory, and professionally irresponsible clown who nearly botched my federal case before he was removed. I caution anyone to think twice before hiring this gentlemen, and take his responses to the reviews on this page for the red flag that they are. - SP
4/16/2026: It's unfortunate but predictable that "Attorney" Taubes has decided to respond to my factual review with false and inflammatory character attacks (about as cringeworthy as his jokes). To be clear, nothing stated by this guy is credible or honest; no responsible attorney would respind in such a manner, and everything I've asserted is so far undisputed by "Attorney" Taubes, and the rest will play itself out. I intend to hold this character publicly accountable through the civil system and grievance committee. I encourage anyone who has been wronged by an attorney to do the same.
Alex, what's the matter that you've edited your response 6 times? Where was this internet tough guy when you were working my federal case? Too busy crying wolf while hiding behind a malpractice attorney. Did I mention I'd give 0 stars if I could?
